Apart from most goods moving within the EU, Customs Clearance remains a necessity for imports (and exports), as does the administration and control of associated Duties and Taxes.

Kerry Teamwork offer a nationwide customs brokerage service. No matter where your goods are located we can arrange clearance via the latest software and associated links, thus ensuring your goods are cleared in the fastest possible time.

For your further information:-

Entries are transmitted electronically to Customs where, upon arrival of the goods, they are allocated a routing:

• Route 1 - Customs will examine and check the documents presented with the hard copy of our customs entry. Clearance time between 12 and 24 hours, taken from the moment our entry is lodged
• Route 2 - Customs will examine, check the documents AND examine the cargo. Clearance time can be between 24 and 48 hours
• Route 3 - Customs guarantee to release your shipment within 75 minutes. We undertake to provide all relevant documentation - latest 24 hours from lodgement. Entries can be queried by HMCE but it is quite rare
• Route 6 - Customs guarantee to clear your shipment within 15 minutes. No subsequent paperwork is required (i.e. fast track clearance). Even so, HMCE reserve the right to call on us to lodge relevant paperwork at anytime during the next four years!
  

A further delay in the release of your cargo can occur when your shipment may be randomly selected for scanning  on one of the numerous X-Ray scanning machines. These were introduced to counter smuggling and to act as a further security measure against terrorism over recent times.

The process can delay your cargo by up to 48 hours and the cost for X-ray examination varies between Freight Forwarders.
