Cargo Insurance

Freight Forwarders, Cargo Terminal Operators, Shipping Lines, Airlines, Hauliers and Warehouse Operators only ever carry a limited liability based on their own conditions of trading, which are always:

• The owners of uninsured goods, damaged or lost in transit will seldom(if ever) be fully compensated in the event of a claim. The effort and degree of correspondence often needed to finalise and prove liability can also be exhausting
• Therefore the only real safeguard for a cargo owner is to take out Marine Insurance for the value of the goods
• Marine cargo is available in different forms, i.e open cover, annual policies, single voyage or forwarders open cover. Even then some restrictions apply
