SEAFREIGHT INDUSTRY RATE CHANGES FEBRUARY 2010

With effect from the 1st February 2010 the following rate changes will be coming into effect:

BAF rates will range from $447.00 to $537.00 per 20ft container and $894.00 to $1074.00 per 40ft container
CAF rates will range from 12.68% to 18.29% of the total freight value.

There are also the following surcharges applicable dependent on the shipping line used:
EBS(Emergency Bunker Surcharge) $75.00 - $250 / teu
ARS(Gulf of Aden Surcharge)  $20.00 - $55.00 / teu
Suez(Suez Canal Surcharge) $9.00 - $22.00 / teu
ESS(Emergency Space Surcharge) $100.00 - $250.00 / teu

Please note that the above rates are applicable for all sailings from the 1st February 2010 and are dependent on the shipping line used.
